Testimonials / Reviews

“Hannah and Simon have grown up in the valley, left, educated themselves, and have come back.  They know the community value of the lodge and they know their capabilities. They will bring new ideas and a youthful freshness to an old river lodge. We have complete confidence that they will make a success of whatever they try and we believe they will also have a lot of support from family and friends.”

“The Lodge was always my favourite place to go. I have missed it. Dinner in the Valley, a night out with a romantic cabin!”

“Outside of the work arena, both Hannah and Simon are organizers, managers and producers of large, multi-day community events. They have the knowledge, community support and energy to really knock this out of the park. I can’t think of two better people to run this business successfully.”

— Shannon McPhail, Kispiox Valley local/settler
Co-Executive Director, Skeena Watershed Conservation Coalition

“If anyone can pull it off, it’s Hannah and Simon. They have the skills (from cooking, to guiding, to entertaining), the connections, the energy (and so, so much more) and I wouldn’t hesitate to say the whole valley is behind them and excited to see them succeed. And they will, if given the opportunity.”

“After hearing about this upcoming proposal for a dream that has lived in the heads of these amazing individuals, I thought to myself “this is right”. Kispiox River Lodge - in my opinion - is perfect for them and the northern region. It will bring our communities together and accommodate the engagement of artists, local businesses and travellers. I know that I will always be ready to participate in music nights with Simon and enjoy delicious food from Hannah.”

5.5 / 5 stars for their exemplary hospitality. It was winter and the room was comfortable and warm. The set up was reminiscent of a lodge from the olden days. Simon and Hannah even prepared a take away breakfast and lunch which I helped myself to before I left early the next morning. I do recommend KRL to folks and hope to stay again.
